Berkhamsted Poetry Society is excited to present:

Berkhamsted's first Festival of Verse!

Join us on the 6th September at the Old Mill Pub & Garden

From 2pm - 10pm

Come for the poetry and worldpay, for the culture and creativity, for an afternoon and evening of fun and laughter!

Enjoy recitals, poetry workshops, local and national poet and author readings, music and performance from award-winning, spoken-word artistes and poets.

Open Mic and Poetry Slam for the brave!

About the festival

This day festival is being funded and created by the Berkhamsted Poetry Society, with generous support from its members as well as businesses and organisations in Berkhamsted itself.

Location

The festival will be held in the tranquil canalside gardens of the Old Mill.

Festival of Verse programme | Saturday 6th of September

Festival opens at 2pm

Guests are welcome to arrive from 2pm onwards.

Poetry Workshop | 2pm - 5pm

Take part in the workshops and wordplay activities, enjoy recitals, authors and poetry readings, musical interludes, rhythm and rhyme play, lyrics, writer's hub, write your poems, prose, verses and everything in-between!

Open Mic | 5pm - 6:30pm

Open to all! Expect the unexpected... locals and visitors welcome! | Be brave! Prizes on the night!

Headline show | John Hegley & Paul Cookson | 7:30pm - 9:30pm

Festival cost
£17 for the full day - this is also your entry to the evening headline show (£9 student or child price).

What's not included

Tickets to the festival do not include refreshments or beverages. Delicious food or drink available all day from The Old Mill pub.

Getting there
The Old Mill Pub is approximately a 10-min walk from Berkhamsted station, and just a few mins walk from Berkhamsted High Street. There is a car park for those travelling by car. For more detailed information visit their website.
